I'm running an rMBP on 10.8.2 and an iPhone 4S running iOS 6. Messages sent to my iPhone from an iPhone have been showing up on my rMBP since before 10.8.2 and iOS 6, since I had consolidated my email and cell number in the iOS 5.1.x preferences pane.
However, I've read that there should be a phone number option in the Message app's preferences in 10.8.2, but it's not there for me. (All that appears is my email address, along with an "add email" option. There's nothing about a cell number.)
I don't believe I'm missing any functionality (??), but I'm curious why this might be. Anyone know what's going on? Thanks.
