That this saga has rolled on without any explanation for months now shows us how backwards Apple have gone since Steve passed away. This would NEVER have happened on his watch. Cook just doesn’t have the killer instinct to keep Apple at the top of its game. It is shameful, shocking but not surprising. Is there an Alpha male or female in Apple to send Cook packing and save it from further embarrassment? I truly hope so.

Oooo, you really got to me now. I’m gunna go ahead and release iCloud Messages even though it has lots of bugs and isn’t ready. Then I’ll worry about PR after. JK! I’ll just keep running a nearly trillion dollar company and you can keep running your forum profile.

Thanks,
-T. Cook

Typical hyperbole. You have no idea why there is a delay. In fact no knows if it’s delayed at all. All we do know is that it was said to be included in iOS 11. For all we know it’s always been on the roadmap for release as part of 11.3

apple said itll return with a later version of ios 11, but OBVIOUSLY everyone expected ios 11.0.1 etc.. could be 11.2, 11.2.x, 11.3, 11.4 however high 11 will end up going..

but NO! i want it NOW, so i can further whine about apple & how "steve jobs would NEVER have let this happen either!!11one" if they pushed out the feature, & it was buggy & broken like it was in the betas earlier this year.

you people......

Mobile Me happened under his watch. That was worse. By far.

I wish people would stop this BS about everything be great under Steve.

Here are the 3 things that kill the “Steve wouldn’t have ever allowed this to happen”

1. Steve’s dead. Who tf knows.
2. Steve hand picked Tim Cook to take over. He clearly saw something after working for him for years that would enable Steve to trust the future of the company he built, to Tim.
3. Steve wasn’t perfect. He brought us MobileMe and Antennagate among others.

Tim and Co. are doing just fine. Could they improve? Sure, but this same tired story about how Tim just showed up and is ruining the company because “Steve woulda never” is just old and dumb at this point.

Jobs being alive did not stop MobileMe from being a complete disaster.

Messages in the Cloud will be a disaster if it causes massive data loss, has massive stability issues, or exposes messages to public; at the moment it's just late.

Good point.

So, you and Steve were that close? Why did he pick Tim over you?

Condolences on your loss.

I think Cook has done an excellent job.. He had some big shoes to fill and bashing him has no merit .. Apple will the be the first trillion dollar company obviously he knows something ...

Late. As in the late Arthur Dent.

Bwa-hah.

I’d go as far as saying, that after this debacle, we’ll never be able to believe any further promises from Apple for a long, long time.

I too, have been waiting for messages in iCloud. I get that you're annoyed/upset about something that was announced and hasn't been released yet. But, with the bugs Apple has had lately, wouldn't you prefer that they release this once it's ready and not rush to get this released? Also, the whole Steve argument needs to end, the software is much more capable today with many more features/functionality and Apple is supporting a lot more devices/services now, therefore it's much easier for bugs to happen.

What debacle? Waiting till a feature is working to release it? I guarantee had Apple released it as it was in earlier 11.0 betas, there would have been tons of complaints (and I’m sure you yourself would have been front row for that.) It only worked for roughly 50% of beta testers.
