messages issue 11.3 beta2

just installed 11.3 public beta 2, and my messages app is unhappy; slow to open, only latest texts show... when they finally do show. the message indicator does not change. am not synced thru icloud.

anyone else? have reported it, but thinking not everyone is experiencing this. is anyone? any ideas?

[doublepost=1518045100][/doublepost]am noticing, in settings, when i go to messages, it takes a long time to open the window; then, i can't sign in to messages, it won't validate (am assuming the problem is here)... tries to verify (password IS correct), then, after a really really long time, i get an error: "iMessage Activation: Unable to contact the iMessage server" . tried a few times...

EDIT: acting up on my mac as well, so... something with messages in general (or specifically, my account...)...

EDIT EDIT! logged in on my phone, but nothing sending, and only very-last text shows per person... and sluggish as can be (seems ok on the mac).

again, anyone else having issues?

am restored, to (sigh) 11.2.5. all working, so (lol) will reinstall the beta (when i can find 3 hours to deal with all this again)!

last; is there anyway i can re-install the previous beta? (public beta 1)... pb2 is definity not happy on my SE (i reinstalled it, and same issues: messages unresponsive, everything sluggish)...

You can only install the latest version of beta, whether public or not. I suggest you hold off until a very late beta stage where most things sort out. Downgrading or upgrading between beta and public release may damage your user data as well. (I lost ALL of my previous messages by just doing that, and my backup was quite a while ago)

I’m thinking iMessage Cloud will go away again before 11.3 is released. At this point I’m starting to doubt we will ever see it in a 11.x release.
I hope it makes it as I´m not going IOS 12 (i have older units and I don´t need the slowdown that every new IOS brings)

am not using messages in icloud; also, the phone seems fine except for messages. so, would rather live with that issue for now, as my apps, files, etc are only there in the beta (in 11.2.5 i can't restore my data, and would be completely starting over).

ah, well. for me, 10.13 public beta 1 was perfect. so it goes...

anyway, tried turning icloud ON for messages, and NOW it's working... so guess i have to use it that way (at least, thru the current beta)...

EDIT: and not working again, sigh. will look into it, but frustrating...

You mean working as in no lag and messages open faster??? By turning in icloud for imessage>? Also which iphone are you on?
