SITUATION: After a reboot yesturday, when I opened Messages on my iMac, the history side panel was empty (except for one random message).
My history of messages are still on my MacBook, iPhone, and iPad. The message files are still in the archive folder of ~/library/messages.
New messages come in fine, but don't connect to the old messages to build the history on the imac.
FIX ATTEMPTS: Another restart - nothing.
Toggled iCloud sync. - nothing
deleted ichat preference - nothing
used ONYX to clean various caches and stuff (also to try fixing another problem where some media files are listing as folders) - nothing
disabled/re-enabled (signed out/in) of Apple account for messages. - nothing
Left on for a while to see if slowly rebuilt - nothing.
Supposition: Messing around with one of these might do it, but I have no idea what.
QUERY: Can anyone help me out on what to do next?
