Messages nearly 60GB?

Hi all

Per the attached screenshot, messages is taking nearly 60GB of my phone!

I assume this is occurring because media in messages is stored on the phone rather than in the cloud. Is there a way to bulk move media to Photos, so they are uploaded to the cloud and not on my phone locally?

On a similar note, can I do the same for WhatsApp?

I don't think there's a way to do it within iOS. You'll have to connect to your computer and use something like iMazing. To bulk export attachments from Messages and WhatsApp.
