Messages no longer working on MBP

Messages no longer working on MBP, not sending nor receiving, the last message received was at the end of may. I don't recall whether it coincided with a OS update on my RMBP or iPhone 6.
RMBP running Yosemite 10.10.4
iPhone running iOS 8.4

Any suggestions?

Log out of Messages and FaceTime on both the Mac and you iPhone. Then log back in on both.

Log out of Messages and FaceTime on both the Mac and you iPhone. Then log back in on both.

My MBP and iPhone regular fall out of sync. Sometimes messages show up on one and not the other. A reboot usually gets things back on track.
