Hello. In the last few days, the messages on my Apple Watch (5th gen) and iPhone XS are not in sync. I have to check the message on both devices to get the messages to be marked as read on the watch. I've tried power cycling both devices without any success. Previously, this wasn't an issue, just recently it started. I *think* it is only SMS messages but cannot say for sure.

Is this happening to anyone else? If so, did you find a solution? Thanks!

My pairing isn’t working as I expected. If I delete a message on my iPhone the watch still has the deleted iPhone messages on it.

I’m seeing some inconsistent syncing as well and yes it does seem to be with SMS.

Had this issue along with receiving notifications on my watch (series 4) while I had my message app open on my phone. All started after I switched from 8 Plus to 11 Pro max. Never had this problem with my 8. I went into my iPhone settings -> messages -> send & receive and unchecked all but my phone number under “You can receive messages to and reply from”. That seemed to have resolved the issue, at least for now.
