Messages syncing problem

This problem has bedeviled me for years and I thought I would try to get to the bottom of it. I have:

• A 2020 iMac running latest version of Sequoia

• A mini iPad running latest version of iPadOS

• An iPad Pro running latest version of iPadOS

• An iPhone 13 running latest version of iOS

• An Apple Watch Ultra running latest version of WatchOS

On every device I have sync turned on in iCloud but when I want to delete an incoming text, I have to go to every single device and delete it on that device. Deleting on any one device does not delete it on every other advice.

Anyone have a solution for this???
