    Greetings Macrumors!

I am the proud owner of a 2007 White macbook 3,1 that has been through a lot in its 7 years of usage. And it has been upgraded hardware wise to the max. It has 4gb of Ram, 240Bg solid state drive and its running Snow Leopard.

Plenty of you will probably tell me upgrade to Lion. its the max that macbook can take! Well according to apple. I did have Mountain lion installed on it and the computer ran a LOT better. The only issue was Wifi kext wasnt correct and i couldnt connect to a Enterprise wifi connection and shelved that project for now. (idk how to install kexts and stuff even though i once had a hacintosh)

Anyways. I love this machine. It has always worked for school and thats what i need it for. However there is one thing that i need. I need a messaging app and since mountain lion and over has Imesssage (Something i disabled on my iphone) i need something in snow leopard. I used to use a appl called Pinger but its terrible.

Does anyone know any software that works with 10.6.8 Snow Leopard that i can text people free aside from Pinger?

    Google Voice is one.

Or, if you have an jailbroken iPhone and would like to text from your actual phone number on your desktop there's "Remote Messages".
