Messed Up Text On TI-89

Hi. I just bought a TI-89 Titanium Graphing Calculator, and sometimes the text is all messed up and pixelated, how do I fix this?

a new calculator shouldn't be doing that (I've never seen that that on my 89). Return it.

oh, didn't know you meant like that. yeah, mine does that too when an option isn't available.

so that's it "greying out" a feature that's unavailable? sorry, i got this today

That's like that option is greyed out, but since the screens on those can't display different shades it blots it out.
