So anyway thought I would try and free up some hard drive, by removing some duplicate photos which I seem to have a lot of since my shift to a new computer.
Was using MacPaw Gemini, which probably wasn't the problem as after I did the duplicate search I combined what was left of two photo folders.
Now when I use lightroom it is not able to locate some of the photos, so am just left with an enlarged thumbnail :(.
Think I may have to reset Lightroom and do a fresh import of all photos, unless anyone has any other ideas ?

You don't need to reset lightroom or do a fresh import. All that has happened is that you told lightroom a photo was in a certain location and it's no longer there. It sounds like this will have happened when you merged the 2 folders.

All you need to do is point Lightroom towards the raw file's new location and all will be well.

Lightroom cannot keep track of changes you make to your folder structure outside of Lightroom (for example, using the Finder or other software). In future, if you want to move files that you've imported into Lightroom, then use lightroom to move them (this will prevent breaking any referenced links).
