are their any alternatives instead of messenger for mac version 6.0.2?

I want a version with webcam etc like its windows counterpart so that I can make use of it much more than the ****** version we have had microsoft ship us.
my friends tried a few atleast thats what shes said and she reckons none of them work (not sure which shes tried, and shes a bit blonde)

The real benefit to Adium is if you have friends on multiple services (Yahoo, Gtalk, .Mac, AIM, MSN, Jabber, etc.) you can text them all from one app. Then, if you need to video chat, you open the specific app (I can't wait until Adium figures out how to add video).

Try mercury messenger as well. As for using two applications, only open the other when you want to webcam. Adium is much better text-wise than every other msn program out there.

    iChat

I use iChat due to the seamless integration with all the other mac programs. Here is the trick I use: Since iChat supports jabber, you can have your aim, msn, google talk, yahoo, so on and so forth.... just follow this tutorial.

I don't really like using iChat for MSN, even through Jabber. It feels clunky and I think it's only useful if you have a few msn contacts and a lot of aim/iChat ones and you want to be able to talk the msn contacts at the same time without using another program.

Even then, Adium still does this (for text).

I use aMSN allot, I didn't like the interface so I changed the theme. You can get new ones from the aMSN website.

Really? I thought they were making a new one to release with Office 2008?

Either way I wouldn't be surprised if it was crappy.

Msn messenger in mac is too suck...
I used windows live messenger most of the time before I bought my macbook..
None of the messenger in mac can compare to it..

I really hope microsoft will release a better one soon.. at least have the function from WLM...

    Currently, Im using adium..
Im testing out vista now, after I done with it, i will install winxp in parallel, so I will run WLM in parallel's coherence mode... and stop using the suck messenger in mac..

I tried that for a bit, but then I decided I didn't need WLM so badly I was prepared to sacrifice so much RAM just for it.

Yea.. it really depends how much time you will spend on the WLM..
For example, I usually surf the web + chatting with my frds..
Having WLM is important for me.. Its really not fun without having the functions as my frds that chat with me do..
