I can't sign in to onto the messenger in my college's wireless internet. But i can sign in at home.

Does it have anything to do with proxy?
Because in the college, we need to input some kind of proxy into the airport to be able to use the internet.

Any ideas how to make it work?

You answered your own question; it's probably the proxy or it's a firewall.

Unless you find out the college's Firewall/proxy details, chances are you won't be able to get through and use MSN... but shouldn't you be doing work? 😛

i tried installing adium in school and i'm able to sign into msn using adium but i don't like adium..

If i'm able to sign into msn with adium and i can't with the Messenger:Mac by microsoft.... what do you think?

I'm sure Adium has more advanced proxy controls that the Messenger for Mac client (Because it's designed for multiple IM services as well, rather than just MSN)... but if you open Adium and look at the preferences, try and see if you can copy anything that's different connection-wise to the preferences for Messenger for Mac... (if you can)

Someone else may know a better way to get it working, but hey, it's worth a try.

If not, it may just be that you'll have to use Adium and grin and bare it (Although you can customize it to make it better, if you want - but I shan't go into that)

I'm new to mac i don't know how to do such stuff

Adium doesn't have personal message and that sucks.

Yea the subheader thing..
It does?
How?

I downloaded the adium beta though.

I can see personal message of others but i can't set a personal message for myself.

I'm pretty sure you create a a new status in Preferences > Status > +. I think that works.

Why is it so important that you need a personal message?

because i use it as a form of advertisement.
and when i use adium, no one can see my display picture-.-
