iPhone XR Messenger not working properly for my friend any ideas ?

It won’t let my friend joined messenger group call with a bunch of people in it he’s on an iPhone XR running latest software we tried Google and nothing what can we do?

Maybe some privacy settings on your friend’s side that needs changing?

Is your friend on Facebook, and are you both connected/friends on FB?

I have a similar issue. I can get on my Facebook through the app and through the browser but when I attempt to use Messenger it just gives me an error and tells me to try again later. I’ve deleted the app and it’s the same when I put it back. Mildly annoying but I’ve always preferred Apple Messages and only need it for a few friends that use only Messenger.
