Meta AI Support Bot Helped Hackers Hijack Instagram Accounts

I constantly get spam messages on the business account of people pretending to be this but it’s a hijacked account.

What do you expect? You can’t even talk to a real person at the company. I’ve never heard of such a thing before.
 
I believe this is what cost me my Instagram and Facebook accounts. Despite trying to contact support and let them know I was hacked, they instead permanently deleted my accounts. Probably for the best at this point.

Not surprised, more AI slop behaving in unpredictable ways, and all the programmers will go oohhh that's interesting.. now it is bloody terrifying actually! But on we march thrusting Ai into every single aspect of our lifestyle.. What is even more scary are governments desperate to use Ai for anything and everything, add to that the forcing of 'digital age verification' having to upload your face, passport or drivers licence or other VERY sensitive documents to third party companies, some of which have already been hacked, Discord for instance, or they are using your forms to train Ai illegally, or they have been fined for holding onto your data longer then they should be..

Yes add it all together and we are heading towards a lovely dystopian future. In a few weeks as a Brit I will have to in theory upload my data to verify myself to use ANY website on the web with a comments section or chat section, so pretty much 99% of the internet then.. Including Mac Rumors.
