Has everything incorporated the metal API in the iOS 9 beta?

Does Safari use it ? Do we know of anything that is not using it?

That's a very good question. I know they mentioned that default apps would now use Metal, but I'm not sure if Safari is included.

Apple's iOS 9 preview page claims it will speed up web page rendering so it's talking about Safari. Is this actually implemented in the beta, it should in theory improves some browser benchmarks if it actually is.

After using ios9 on my 6+ last few days, and using the El Capitan beta on my rmbp early '13, Safari and almost everything rendered appears to be leveraging metal. El Captin is hilariously faster with graphics. Hopefully apps can use it without much trouble.

That's very good to hear!

Let's hope I get the same results on my mini 2 because these frame rates I'm getting just from interacting with the UI is truly abhorrent.
