So I am planning to start riding my motorcycle to class, and I need to bring my macbook. While I do have several backpacks that can carry it, I am terrified of ruining it if I were to wreck the bike. Does anyone have suggestions of a good metal case that isn't too heavy?

perhaps this would work... 😉 anvil cases.

Must it be metal?

Pelican makes a really good hard plastic case. They're built as weather resistant too. I've used them for airport travel (instrumentation), and shipping laptops. Even UPS's gorilla squad hasn't busted one yet, so they can take a beating. 😀

Zero Halliburton.

Aluminum attaches and laptop cases, they also make a carbon fiber version that is obscenely expensive.

I read about somebody using this case for their MBP who got in a head-on collision and the laptop was launched out the front windshield into a wall, he claims there wasn't a scratch on it. (The macbook pro, not the case).😀

Those pelican cases look like they might do the trick. I'm trying to avoid anything too terribly heavy. Thanks for all the suggestions.
