Metal Detector

Hi,

My friend had a metal detector application on his G1 that would display a meter and vibrate when the phone detected metal. It used the internal compass. Now that the iPhone 3Gs has an internal compass, would it be possible to make this app for the iPhone?

Yeah, the metal disturbs the compass and it spins.

There is allready a paid app out there! I'm still waiting for a free one though.

Sounds pretty cool. Not much use for it but would try it out. Wouldn't buy though
