Hi folks

I have the iPhone 13 Pro, but this time around I have chosen the Graphite version. Last time I had a 12 Pro Max in Silver, however noticed a lot of scratches , scuffs on the metal frame, when I went to sell it.

I believe this year on the keynote, mentioned it being a bit more durable. Any one got any information on how resistant to scratches they are at all ?

I know on some phones especially in cases that a piece of lint or something harder can get trapped between the case and phone causing it to scratch or mar the side frame.

I don’t believe they mentioned more scratch resistant finishes in the keynote. Scratches like you experienced are probably to be expected at some stage - and aren’t uncommon in other products that use steel either, i.e. watches.

All the iPhones except the silver have a PVD coating to achieve the color of the stainless steel. From past generations of iPhones with this PVD costing show to be more scratch resistant then the silver stainless steel.

The stainless steel on the silver (or white) iPhones scratches easily but the scratches can be removed just as easily. The other colors have a PVD coating on them to make them more scratch resistant. However, in the chance they do scratch, it can't be removed.

All devices scratch can’t avoid it period! I use a case from day one and never look back or at the device anymore can’t be bothered with minor scratches on something that is carried with me 24/7 you have to expect that.

would be interesting to know exactly what kind of steel around 13 Pro, Stainless surgical steel it says, but i am interested of the chemical mixture compound of the steel. Cannot find any articles about that
