Since I don't have enough space on my MBA to write the new tag on a video file that I encoded using Handbrake for using on the :apple:TV, I copied the file to Time Capsule. I then ran MetaX and tried to add the new tag. It is taking over an hour and it only shows it is half way done. Usually this takes only a few minutes on the MBA's HDD. Is this normal or I shouldn't bother doing this on a remote HDD?

It is not necessarily the TC but your network. Do you have a gigabit network or 10/100? MetaX actually writes a complete new copy of your video file in order to embed the tags, then deletes the original video file after it is done.
You may want to write the tags while the file is on you local HD, then transfer the finished file to your TC.
