sorry guys, I thought the medal/achievement thing was common knowledge.

thanks for the heads up. I hadn't heard about the achievements yet. I guess we will learn more as people get the game. The 360 has me addicted to those damn achievements, I wouldn't mind a centralized reward system on the wii also. Hopefully that is what this is...

It's only for internally for the game, I believe.

I'm happy for achievements, but I want a system-wide achievement system! Please Nintendo..?

woo, here we go. No one else picked this up yet?

I need that Mii bobblehead!

I'm so very happy. I managed to get it yesterday (Monday). I've only put in a little time with it, but am already very much in love with the way it controls. I definitely recommend Advanced sensitivity.

I don't want to spoil much, but the second boss fight is bad@$$.

What's everyone think of the lack of multiplayer?

It's not *too* much of a problem for me, since I had been wanting the game for its single player campaign long before there was any word of whether there would be a multiplayer component in the game or not.

However, it is a disappointment since the first person controls are very good and could make one heck of a deathmatch. Here's hoping some third parties will get inspired by Metroid's controls and make some first-person shooters with some great multiplayer.

I've sent a couple of people friend vouchers....no idea what they do. Arhmagination is the only MR person how shows as black on my list.

Anybody else want one?

Lets experiment.

I added you Sky Blue.

cool thanks. I've added you, but iirc it's takes a little while for the system to pick it up. I have one friend voucher left, i'll send it to you tonight.

my Wii started flashing as i was leaving for work :D

The friend voucher becomes a green medal. I need one more yellow and 1 green for the Mii bobblehead!!

Thanks for the voucher ^_^

Anybody else wanna trade vouchers? Got 3 left for now.

What's everyone think of the lack of multiplayer?

I just put up a roundtable with another editor about it, you should be able to tell what side I'm on pretty quick :) http://www.nintendoplayers.com/feature.php?featureID=43 But I don't really know the general concensus.

I'm on the fence. The debate does raise a couple good points but probably the biggest is the weapons issue.

OK, so you start everyone off with the Plasma beam... now what? If you don't have weapons upgrades everyone is going to be complaining about how "tacked on" the multiplayer seems, and when the point of the game is the adventure why should the developer spend time putting in weapons that are not part of the main game (grenades/rocket launchers/etc). It's the whole give an inch and they'll want a mile syndrome. Right now the gripe is no online multiplayer death match... give them that, and it's either unfair or rudimentary (no weapons variation)... give them that, and it's either delayed further, or something in the single player mode would have had to been sacrificed (it may not have been noticed since it would never have been there, but something would have had to give)...

All this debate manages to prove is that if the MP3:C game play is as good as the reviews seem to think it is, maybe Retro's next project should be an online multiplayer game that addresses these shortcomings. Whether or not it's set in the Metroid universe is a moot point if the game is good, the Metroid name (or any franchise for that matter) only serves marketing since you already get a dedicated fan base and some "guaranteed" sales and you can focus your advertising campaign to get people who might not otherwise purchase the game interested.
