A new FPS IP w/ online mulitplayer from Retro, with these controls, would be a slice of fried gold.

I know I am late to the party, and I know there isn't multiplayer in MP3, so what are the friend codes for?

I should be getting the game tonight.
 
basically, there are vouchers you can earn during the game for completing a certain thing (think xbox live achievements).

One kind you can send to people on your friend lists for special unlockables you cant get otherwise.

Add your code!

Cool stuff. What kind of unlockables?

And I am new to this whole code thing. Do I have a unique code for my console, and every game uses the same code? Or, do I get a new code for each game?

Unlockables such as a screen shot tool, a cool little mii bobblehead for your ship, and some other stuff im not sure of.

You have a unique code for your system, so it's not an individual game code, go to the message board button on the bottom right (the little envelope), then, choose the new message bottom (the second button on the bottom left of the screen), next, go to the address book (the 3rd button) and right on the front page of your address book is your friend code, the address book is also where you add new friends.

There are also a few dioramas but I don't know what these are yet.

Here are the details:

The content below is unlockable in the game. You must use credits earned in the game (of all four varieties) to unlock anything. Listed next to each piece of unlockable content is the number of each credits you’ll need to unlock said content. B = Blue Credits, F = Friend Credits, G = Gold Credits, and R = Red Credits.

Bumper Stickers - 1B/2F/3G/3R
Diorama (I) - 1B/1F/3G/3R
Diorama (II) - 1B/1F/3G/3R
Diorama (III) - 1B/1F/3G/3R
Diorama (IV) - 1B/1F/3G/3R
Diorama (V) - 1B/1F/3G/3R
Diorama (VI) - 1B/1F/3G/3R
Mii Bobblehead - 1B/2F/3G/3R
Screenshot Taker - 1B/2F/3G/3R

Some concept art needs Friend credits to be unlocked:
Creatures (II) - 2B/1F/2G/3R

There's more unlockable but for the rest you won't need friend credits.

If I counted it right, one would need a total of 15 friend vouchers to be able unlock everything.

you can't unlock everything. There are a ton of other stuff to unlock without friend vouchers.

Anyway, post your wii info so we can get crackalackin.

Not exactly. There's more to unlock but I only listed the items for which you need friend vouchers (Green Credits).

I haven't unlocked the screenshot extra yet but I'm pretty sure it's only for Metroid Prime 3.
 
One wonders if one could send screenshots to ones friends. That would be onederful.
 
Red - Scanning certain items?
Blue - boss fights?
Yellow - ???
Green - Voucher from friend.

I'm still figuring this out but I find this snippet on the intharwebs:

Tokens come in four colors: Red, Blue, Green, and Gold.
- Red tokens are given as you scan a certain number of enemies/items.
- Blue tokens are given for scanning lore and accomplishing side tasks.
- Green are obtained when a friends gives you a voucher.
- Gold tokens are given for beating bosses on various difficulties
