iPhone 16 Pro Mic quality sounds weird?

Anyone tried a WhatsApp voice note or a voice memo? The mic sounds a bit off. Can’t put my finger on why. Seems muted compared to old recordings.

Not with WhatsApp but my wife insist that it sounds "unclear" compared to my previous 15Pro. Also I find that the earpiece audio is not as defined as the 15Pro with no low frequencies coming through.

Is it because you are using different audio setting or are using cinematic audio?

Definitely sounds worse to my ears, iPhone 16 pro max.

First noticed it on WhatsApp voice notes but speaker quality seems to be worse for all apps for certain sounds, speaking definitely sounds worse than 15 Pro.
