I want to buy one compilation...which is the best?
The Essencial Michael Jackson or Number Ones?

Thanks.

Yes.
Agreed. Number Ones has about half the songs of Essential, but Essential goes back to the days of the Jackson 5, which is cool.

If I had to choose, I'd get Essential, but I'm more than a casual fan (I have Off the Wall through HIStory and some Jackson 5 stuff).

All musics in Numbers Ones are in Essential? Are they the same version or there are any difference (remastered, as example)?

My vote goes for The Essential, as it has most of his hits (certainly the biggest). Target was selling the "3.0" version which has a 3rd disc with 7 or 8 more tracks for $15.

Sad, isn't it, and more than a bit predictable, but still, I'm very pleased to see this thread as it answers a timely question, and one I had asked myself.

For yes, ever since I learned of the troubled creature'sdemise, I have played whatever works of his I had on my iPod - mostly Jackson and early MJ Motown hits, great stuff. Thanks for the timely thread MR members.

Cheers and good luck

I bought "Essential" I love the Jackson 5 stuff on there. A lot of quintessential Jackson stuff on there.
