Michael Phelps brings home the Gold with his iPod!

Perhaps Apple can take advantage of his current popularity and do a Phelps Celebrity Playlist when he gets done with the Olympics...

Well, now that Spitz's record is out of the question it looks as if Phelps is back on track.

I know he's into hip-hop, but I'm still curious as to what songs he listens to before each race...

According to the Associated Press, Phelps was listening to Eminem's "'Till I Collapse" just before his race. Obviously it helped, as he went on to break his own World Record.

That sounds just like the Wilson swim team. Wilson HS is a very popular swim and water polo school in Southern California (we haven't lost our main tournement in 34 years...), and most of us have G3 iPods, and listen to up-and-motiviating songs like "'Till I Collapse" or "Lose Yourself" before we swim.

I think that would be cool. See what he's listening to when he's pumping himself up for a race. I wonder if there's a place to suggest this, probably not because then Apple would be getting thousands of emails a day suggesting this person or that person... oh well...

Anyone notice a few of our fine Aussie swimmers with their iPods?

There were a few apparently!

Even Leisel Jones tonight here in Aust, when interviewed with all the other Australian women who won medals, was asked what song she listened to on the pool deck replied something like:
"I don't own my own iPod, so I was borrowing other people's!"

Oh the unfortunate thing was that the song was Tina Turner's Nutbush City Limits!!?!??!?!

Go the iPod!

Oh yeah and congrats to the Aussie girls in the pool!

I was watching the women's 10 meter platform diving last night. The announcers were talking about what kind of music some of the divers like to listen to. But between poor reception and a 13" TV, I have a tough time spotting iPods!

After the Olympics ends Apple should do a commercial series where they have various Athletes who won gold medals with gold iPod minis in their hands, add some cool music, a testimonial, think of the possibilities And they could tailor it by country!
