Got one too!

Thanks for posting about this deal. I was able to get one with a battery cycle count of 2 at the local Microcenter as an Open Box return for 10% less. It is spotless. The warranty started on January 28th, 2012, but I submitted my receipt to Apple to have it changed to today's date.

Nice! Wish I got that one, but I'm really happy with this deal.

So no problems with this deal? Thinking about picking it up because I will be very close to the Virginia store next week.

Using it right now. Screen is excellent and no hiccups at all.

I even bootcamped it and I'm playing BF3 on it at 40-50fps on medium settings. Not bad for a laptop, even a mac!

Also, microcenter sells Crucial 8GB RAM for about $40 but that is DDR3-1066. On Amazon, you can get 1333 for the same price:

Perfect.

Just to confirm, this is the model with the hi-res antiglare display, as the specs say that the resolution is 1440x900, but the antiglare only comes in the 1680x1050, so just making sure that that is the model? Also, the clock speed on it is indeed 2.3GHz correct? Further, the hard drive is 750GB?

All correct.

Thanks to OP, picked up one. Really a no brainer...so nice to be working on an overpowered machine for once. I have a battery cycle of 5, doesn't that seem high for a new in box MBP?

How is the quality on the open box one? Does it look like new?

I got an open box MBP 13 from them a while back. It had a big dent in the lid. So it's hit and miss. Still 1600-160 is a nice deal if it was mint.

This is new. I booted it up and registered this as if it were new. It came preinstalled with Lion already. No iLife though which was odd, maybe it's me, but I can go to the Apple Store and get that taken care of.

The quality of item was very up to par, I am very happy. I kinda miss the glossy screen in a way though but with the higher resolution it's really nice. The MicroCenter near me in St. David's is great. They let me update my MacBook right there in the store. The manager personally thanked me for shopping there as well. I don't think I would have gotten that kind of treatment at another big retail store.

Yup, that store is awesome and the sales reps are not pushy, but very informative on the products they sell.

Should I try to wait for a better deal on the memory? I heard you can get this kind of memory for $30 or less under rebate.

You can wait, but I always stick with Crucial and that is the general price for their products. Other brands like Gskill and Kingston do go on sale (I would check Slickdeals for info), but I trust Crucial.

Woot! 6Gbps Link

For those who don't know, this "Feb 2011" 2.3GHz Antiglare has a 6Gbps link Optical Bay! You can buy an SSD to optical-bay adapter and use a SATA III SSD to it's full potential!

I think that you can go through the Mac App Store and download iPhoto, iMovie, and Garageband. New Macs no longer come with iWeb or iDVD if I recall correctly.

And yeah, this Microcenter deal is great. I picked up one a couple weeks. Awesome machine.
