I bother me about the microphone indicator in macOS Monterey. I using the app Boom 2 to enhance the output sound on my mac. The app using the microphone to calibrate the sound. That means the microphone is always on and also the indicator in the top menu. The problem is that the indicator is visible in games and other apps, can I turn this indicator off? at least when I play games?

the mic isn't on, that stupid dot indicates that boom 2 is accessing audio functions. it's a nuisance, and, my guess is, global delight may need to sort it out.

i could not get boom 2 working in monterey, & updated to boom 3D (i don't use the '3D' options); so am amazed boom 2 runs for you at all.

but yet... damn that dot....

I get Boom 2 to work in MacOS Monterey by uninstall it first and reinstall it again. Yes, is a annoying dot! 😡

I have sent them a message now and ask them to fix it.
am wondering about this; i would think that, if apple has it in the OS to show the indicator if any app accesses the mic, that there may or may not be a way to circumvent it.

either way, i could not get boom 2 working in the new OS, and surprised it works for you. nice!
