It's not if it's true or not, is that it's unacurate, with bad info, 'cause the ad talks about an expensive Mac, and she even says it doesn't comes with everything she needs... BUT she doesn't says what is that...

which is what makes the ads rather stupid. but it is not what Apple was concerned about.

it was the shot showing two prices cards for 15" laptops at $1999 and $2499. it wasn't a quick shot. it was very on purpose, in focus and readable.

but after the price changes, that pair of prices is invalid because now the retail models of the 15" inch laptop are $1699, $1999 and $2299. this bad fact would give Apple the right to a false advertising complain. but perhaps being gentlemenly they called and pointed out the error to give Microsoft a chance to have it fixed. which they did, but not before Kevin acted like a total tool.

Thanks

First of all thanks to everyone for the suggestions and support, I have found both of " The lost manuals" on amazon.com listed for very reasonable prices. and for JohnB IMac, Mac! :D like I said I was wiped out after a very long day. I cannot wait to get my new IMac! Whoo hoo!

I wouldn't even assume that it was 'acting,' on his part.

I cannot wait to get my new IMac! Whoo hoo!
Many congrats!

And they will (even in these Mac forums, go figure). It drives them crazy when someone escapes Fortress Microsoft. Like someone jealously watching someone scramble over the Berlin Wall from East to West, they just can't resist firing a few shots.
While the Wall slowly begins to crumble, eroding of its own accord...

Hi
Considering that a 13inch MacBook would do the trick - Laura and Microsoft have no leg to stand on when it comes to value for money.

A MacBook will be either equal or cheaper than the laptops that I see in the big name retailers where I live - and if there is a difference, it is a matter of no more than $100.

Maybe Laura should decide what she wants instead of making a list of expectations based on what Apple doesn't provide. I might as well start demanding a steam boat and because Microsoft doesn't make steam boats then obviously Microsoft sucks as a steam boat company.
Exactly. There is a premium but it is a LOT smaller than most 'PC' companies ( including Microsoft ) try to pitch. To me, that premium is more than worth it.

ON a side note.... I have a lot of customers that have noted they are seriously considering making their next computer purchase a Mac. That's even after I point out 1) it is a different experience so there is a learning curve 2) it's a computer, it's not infallible 3) there's no guarantee there will never be viruses, malware, ... for the Mac OS. My main positive statement to them is once you get past that learning curve ( the intensity varies by person ), your experience will likely be that much more efficient and enjoyable seeing as Apple makes the hardware, software, .. and a lot of stuff does "just work" plus right now there are no 'in the wild' viruses for the Mac OS.

1. many of the demands made in the ads are provided by Apple. which is what makes the ads so ridiculous.

2. the ads are paid for by Microsoft so of course everyone is buying a 'pc'

3. ironic that the company that makes the ads is a well known Mac using company

i would also recommend the videos Apple put up on their site.
