Maybe I missed it, but I didn't see anything about it on the main page (and a search came up empty): Microsoft has released a public preview for the Mac version of their malware protection software Microsoft Defender (formerly Windows Defender under Windows).

Ummm... yeah.

I'm sure that's something many Mac users want...

Is this meant for consumers, or more of a business security thing?

I looked at the web site, no price listed (free in beta) except for a link to get a quote for the cost. That sounds like it will be part of a business services contract vs a consumer offering.
 
I am hoping I am posting this question at the right place, apologies if not.

I am actually trying to uninstall Microsoft Defender ATP from my MBP, which appears to be successful, however after a while it reappears.

It's not like I wanted to install Defender the first place, it came bundled with Edge. So as a good measure I removed Edge too. Still Defender keeps coming back.

Would someone know how to remove Defender permanently, so that it would not be re-installed automatically?
