Meh, ive been on QuickOffice Pro, since iPad1, and on iPad 2 and iPhone 4, and synced to Dropbox in the cloud.....way before Docs on iCloud, and way before any purported Office on iPad.
Seriously, why did they abandon iWork, except for minor updates? Very annoying. Anyway, off topic.
Intending? M$ has had Win on tablet style laptops for 20 years. If they can make $10 per app on iOS, they'd make more money in the first year of iOS-Office than they did on Windows (tablet) in history.
Win8 is also for computers. Office will still be purchased on computers. M$ will still make money.
You guys really need some classes or something. You even said "wildly popular". Really?!
We'll see a release that will integrate iCloud's Documents in the Cloud feature, as seen in the ML dev preview.
Is that the case with ipad 2 too? I thought the problem was my iPad 1 with its low ram and slow processor. My requirents aren't too high though. It just can't handle more than 20-25 pages (with about 200 data entries and couple of formulas for each entry) on my iPad whereas I need about 31 pages max (one per day). Was hoping iPad 3 will fix it for me. Right now I have to create two spreadsheets a month which is kind of a pita if I have to make a correction in the first spreadsheet. If the faster iPad doesn't help improve this, I might have to reconsider my iPad 3 purchase instead of a new MacBook.
CloudOn. You need an US iTunes account and a registration with CloudOn and Dropbox. You have to tell CloudOn your Dropbox password.
It's both pathetic and childish they (MS) feel the need to be so petty and pedantic..."oh no, that's not real, you're misinformed and the photo's a fake".
It's hardly classified secret squirrel commercially-sensitive news that they might be launching an Office for iPad product sometime soon (they'd be stupid if they didn't) or that a demo UI is just that, so what's the big effing deal?
With the iPad 3 coming soon, my bet is that Microsoft will be at the unveiling March 7th. The next focus will surely be productivity.
Yes, I have seen it. And actually worked with it, too. It's awesome and extremely intuitive. Don't bash on something you (presumably) haven't used. It makes you look a bit smug. And ignorant too, frankly. If you have used it yourself and don't like it, that's another story. That's fine then. But even if that's the case, please don't assume everybody here on MacRumors shares your opinion only because "LOL, it's from Microsoft!".WHO gives a damn LOL, it's from Microsoft! They probably just took a year to copy Apple's iWork suite for the iPad and still did a hideous job out of it. Anyone seen the UI of the latest iteration of Office for Mac?

As soon as their bloatware fails they will bring it out.Windows 8 for the non MS people

Really its actually easy, but its true it does not go as far as Excel does.
Still not that hard and I use both the mac and iPad version. iCloud made me leave MS.

But how, the reason iWork works on iPad is because of its simplicity, MS is not know for clean simple design they are know for bloatware for them to serious do it they would have to do things differently now imagine how the MS fan club would have a histrionic episode if they did this.![]()

Having an opinion is good. Even if it isn't shared by other people. But stating one's opinion as fact isn't good. There's a big difference between using the words "I think" and "is". And also between well-founded arguments and misplaced sarcasm, for that matter. I can have respect for an opinion if it's presented as such. Compare this: "Have you seen the new Office for Mac interface? In my opinion, it's hideous and looks very inefficient to me." with this: "Microsoft's new Office for Mac interface is god-awful! But hey, it's from Microsoft, so who cares? LOL!".I don't share my opinion because I want your (or other people's) approval. I do it because this is a free forum in a free country.
Let's be frank with you too: I don't like anything from Microsoft. I used Windows for 12 years before discovering Macs. All that MS is good at is shamelessly ripping Apple off — from dashboard widgets to retail stores — that's more fact than opinion.
