    Hello everyone,

If any of you are students and haven't heard about the Microsoft DreamSpark program, I suggest that you check it out and sign up for an account (requires valid student ID and/or a .edu email address).

DreamSpark allows you to download Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry Pro (it's identical to 8.1 Pro with quite some extras in it, see here: http://www.elbacom.com/we8) and also Windows Server 2012 R2 for free, legally.

So yeah, say goodbye to piracy.

The account is valid for one year, but I don't think Microsoft would come round checking whether you've graduated or not to revoke the license.

    Right.
The idea is to get students to adopt Microsoft tools and languages.
Then when the student graduates and finds a job, his or her employer purchases MSDN subscriptions stocked with new licenses.
