Microsoft Edge on El Capitan ?

Just as the title asks -- is it possible to run MS Edge on El Capitan somehow ? I thought it was interesting that Chrome will run but not Edge. 🙁

it can only run on a Mac with Sierra (10.12) and later

Nope, which is weird because El Cap runs other programs similar to edge.
web browsing that is!
