Totally disagree. I use my iPad 12.9 Pro with Magic Keyboard for almost everything for work and home. Barely use my work laptop. Have trackpad and touch is awesome. I am sure you are in the minority here, but that is why we have choices. :)

Giving you more choices puts more work on us solo indie developers who have to spend more time away from implementing new features and fixing bugs to support your marginally worse workflow compared to a MacBook Air.

Luckily the trackpad isn't fused to the iPad!

The ability to use a trackpad/mouse is entirely optional, and it allows iPads to be a bit more versatile.

You're not thinking about that 1 solo developer who has to spend extra hours away from implementing new features and fixing bugs just so that you can have a marginally worse workflow compared to a MacBook Air.

and developers are forced to adopt that option. additional work and investments for indie developers that barely make any money.
Only if they decide to support that feature; they have to decide if it adds enough value to make the cost worthwhile.

It's your call, don't add the feature if you think it isn't worthwhile and add ones you do; let the market decide if you are right.

Great. Now Microsoft, please bring Microsoft Office app to iPad and make Teams written for M1 chip. Thanks. 😀

Not everyone is destined to be successful in the field of their choice. Life ain't a fairy tale.
Yeah, let's kick indie developers while they're down and only rely on GameLoft, Adobe, and Microsoft for our App Store apps.

What a stupid comment.

No one is saying that; but the market reality is that it is tough to breakthrough with a product as an indie developer. As an indie, you probably realize the challenges you face, as an app store developer, better than I do but from my perspective a few reasons are:

1. There are so many apps that just getting yours in front of potential users is tough
2. Users expect apps to be free and complain about in app purchases, but also complain about a $5 price for a perpetual license
3. If you do come up with a novel idea there no doubt will be a dozen copycats in a few weeks, making it hard to stick out

That's why I chose to limit my development work to commercial clients where I tailor a specific solution; and can charge a reasonable price for the product and any ongoing support.

I like to support indie developers but I'm sure there are dozens of great programs I could use but never heard of.

It's great to have a passion and pursue it; but there's no assurance you will be successful in the market place; that's the reality. My passion is stand up comedy; but I can't quit my day job.

Do you think also good notes will implement the new full trackpad support? That would be AMAZING !!

Yeah, let's kick indie developers while they're down
If the alternative is stopping all progress because it makes them sad? By all means.

Saying iPad trackpad support is bad because it makes indie devs suffer is like saying inventing lightbulbs is hurting artesanal candle makers. It might be true but it doesnt mean it should be stopped.

trackpad isn't progress.
That's your opinion, but I bet there are a lot of iPad owners who differ with you. Adding trackpad/mouse functionality has moved the iPad closer to being a viable, and in some cases, being a, replacement for a laptop. That is a good thin, and as more developers support it iPads will become even better tools for productive work or user enjoyment. Does it move users away from the tablet paradigm, sure, and more users will expect the functionality to be included in apps; but that is the beauty of a marketplace, consumers get to decide what is useful and vote with their wallet.
