Hi,
I have a powerpoint presentation I want to send via email. how can I compress the file to less than 10mb? Its about 42mb at the moment.
Alternatively, how can I send it to a file sharing application. I've tried one but the upload continually fails.

- Replace linked objects by images.
- Compress images before pasting them inside the preso.
- Save the preso into pdf if the recipient doesn't need to modify it.

I know Powerpoint on Windows has an option to save as "PPT lite" but I don't know whether it exists in Mac.

At 42MB, you're going to have a hard time getting that compressed to something smaller. PowerPoint 2008 doesn't have the ability to reduce the file size of your graphics automatically, although that is possible in PowerPoint 2011 (which will be available next month).

There are several places where you can store documents. Currently, I'm using SkyDrive, which gives you 25GB of free online storage. It requires a Windows Live ID, so you might need to sign up for that (but if you've got a Hotmail account, or if you use Messenger, you've already got one). Once you've uploaded your document to SkyDrive, you can use it to send a link to that file via email. (For that matter, you can also edit Word, PowerPoint, and Excel files directly in your web browser, which is awesome for making quick edits.)

Regards,
Nadyne.
