why? if they acquired AOL they would become a monster on the internet. they could effectively harm google, they would own AIM and MSN... they would push google and yahoo far back... a lot of negative things could come from this, and they have the money for it too.

google should buy AOL and if teh can't bet MS with $$$ bid really high makes MS use up some real $$$ and then Google Teams with yahoo to fight MS/MSN/AOL. Then apple can team with Google and Yahoo, they might have to put aside there music wars( yahoo and appple) but it would be worth it

scary things could happen if this goes through.

Like CDs from Microsoft in my mailbox every week.

And terribly broken AOL "integration" features that will make Word crash even more than it already does.

Maybe they'll shoot themselves in the foot and market themselves as "SOL" ...

I am almost certain that AOL is owned by Time Warner. So if MS bought AOL they wouldn't get anything else owned by TimeWarner, just AOL.

I just switched from PC to MAC and that is so true. The MAC version of AOL is very similar to AOL 7.0, which has almost no features at all. (I will be canceling soon).
