I've had the Copilot app on my iPhone for months now. Was I in a beta program and didn't know it or is this a new version or something?

I’ve been using Apple Intelligence extensively, and can confirm that it’s far smarter than it was a few months ago. However, there are still hiccups and corrections that need to be performed manually. I say she’s great while supervised, but can’t trust her with my work unsupervised.
You’re using Siri correctly. Make sure to treat it like you would a human assistant - that’s how it learns, and you may notice that it forwards to GPT less and less as you go.

Why are some of these tools so expensive? $20 a month for the improved version? If a utility costs more than $20 a year I have to think long and hard about whether I need it.

I installed ChatGPT on my iPad, played around with it for a day or so, was actually quite impressed with it. However, that was a couple of weeks ago and I haven't used it since!! Does anyone have a use for these tools on a daily basis?

They’re not ahead though, that’s just it.
Is copilot nearly entirely on-device and therefore infinitely secure and private?
Is copilot capable of recognizing your personal context and making decisions based on it?
Is copilot 100% free?
Can Siri do what copilot can do?
Is Siri capable of recognizing your personal context and making decisions based on it?
Is Siri 100% free or you have to pay in the form of Appletax that’s included with each device?

There you have your answer.

Apple is working on LLMs (and bits and pieces are available now through PCC), and while we wait at the very least we have GPT as a fallback.. though if you use Siri correctly you shouldn’t need GPT to pick up the slack.

Depends on what you're using copilot for, no? I don't see Siri writing Excel macros anytime soon.

Is this actually a native app or electron garbage like Claude?

It’s garbage and doesn’t behave like a normal macOS window. Deleted it immediately.

At least Claude is just a web app and behaves like a web app.

Read the message again.
No data is being sold here because no data leaves the device in question.
Apple has, by FAR, the best security and privacy available in an offered AI.

Doesn't seem to be available in the EU, mot likely because "The Commission" do not trust us with this kind of technology.

AI applications are getting to be like streaming services. We had cable, wanted to pick our own shows, got streaming apps and now everything is an app and all we want is one great service. AI is like ok, let's create a bunch of apps so that one day, we might have one great app. I have copilot on my work PC, I see the icon on the top right at least but so far I have not clicked it. Honestly, I don't know what to ask about most of the time. I certainly don't know it all, just don't know what I don't know to ask.

Why do we need this
Apple Intelligence exists.. just use that, it’s so much better
Apple doesn’t have access to everything in your 365 account. It also doesn’t support RAG. It also uses an older model.

Apples solution has some benefits but to claim it is some all conquering thing and no one else offers anything better is just totally deluded.
