Yeah, I should read the titles before hitting random articles in my Notification Center. . . Sigh

You act like the topic of this article is a new topic-line for MacRumors.... No... they post stuff about Microsoft, Samsung, Nokia, LG, etc. In fact, there are few tech-related companies that have NOT had a headline article.

So you know what type of stuff Macrumors posts, click on a random article, then complain about what you're reading?

Just keep sitting there sighing and wondering....

I still say the Surface Pro 3 won't "come of age" until Windows 10 ships. Windows 8.1 still forces you to use the Modern tiled interface much of the time, which can be quite frustrating to use unless you have a little training.

Depends , I think the modern UI is good for tablets but not good for desktops.

The modern UI apps make sense on the surface because they are built for smaller screens and touch. I actually hope they keep it but give you an option to turn on full size apps or don't.

Windows 8.1 is actually really great , it has many good features that I hope they don't get rid of ( the charms bar for me is awesome , especially the way it searches the Internet and gives you a beautiful view of the information , especially with songs were if you have signed up to Xbox music you can play the song right there and then, it's like spot light on steroids.

Win 10 is definitely an improvement over 8.1, for the desktop. But I actually do miss Metro, when in tablet mode (no keyboard attached). You can still get there, but it requires logging out and in again. The next build is supposed to fix that, by automatically sensing whether you've got a keyboard or not, and switching UIs appropriately.

The two other things they've done recently: they have an icon in apps that switches between large and small buttons- This is huge, and they've also enabled metro apps to open up in Windows, so that they play nicely with other apps, on the desktop. This gets rid of the "whiplash effect", in Win 8.

So far, Win10 has been great. Very good performance and zero crashes on the last two builds. really, it's been very stable.

How long did you try it? Five minutes or a week or two to get used to it?

Well, I didn't buy it just to try it. I played with it in store and it didn't match my expectations. I respect the feature, and I'm no Microsoft hater, it just wasn't that great. Probably because screens lack the texture and feel of paper. I'd give it a measurement of twice as good as drawing on an iPad, though. I'll have to give it a go again.

God that ad is dreadful. The product looks awesome though. I've tried it a few times in the store and I've been quite pleased. It's well built and the design is quite nice. I never thought I'd ever be lusting over a Microsoft product. I'm really tempted to sell my MBP.

Just had to say, I'm really growing tired of this ad

Basically portraying the MBA user as a presumably an overweight, nerdy douchbag….

Pretty patronizing!

If Apple did something like this I'd be equally appalled.

Makes my skin crawl.

Not Unix

I suppose no terminal, standard shells, X11, compilers. No way I am going back to Cygwin. Maybe install Linux on it.

When the surface first came out I laughed at it. Now I'm considering getting one. At least MS is trying to close that gap between tablets and laptops.

Apple has done nothing with the iPad excpet add touch ID. Since I got my iPhone 6 I feel foolish having an iPad because it is basically just a blown up iPhone.
