When people call America 'Murica, I consider them to be America hating trolls. Even when it's my fellow countrymen doing it.

If you take such offense when someone says ‘Murica there is not much I can say to you.

Anyway going back on topic, several people asked why use this when there is Apple News and the answer is because Apple News is 3 countries in whole world only. Same reason I gave Google News a try even though I don’t like Google practices or business model.

And the other user said ‘Murica (and I’m assuming here) because usually Americans never understand why people complain about Apple services.

I don't know if your vegan analogy is appropriate here, but I guess you want to call out hypocrisie? Because you feel that if someone is courageous enough to make the difficult but admirable decision to be vegan for whatever reason (health, climate change, animal abuse, ...) , they have to be ridiculed and called hypocrites when they use the wrong kind of makeup?

Grow up, at least they're taking a stance against one of the most corrupt and horrible industries that's destroying the planet while abusing billions of animals a year.

From my own experience, people calling out vegans, deep down know they're right, but they're too weak to change themselves. In 30-50 years, eating animals will be a thing of the past, just like burning fossil fuels, better get on board now.

Anyway. Microsoft News... meh. Stil waiting for Apple News to be launched outside the US.

And Siri for Apple TV, Maps Nearby, Maps Transit, Maps Speed limits, Apple Pay, the TV App, ... I feel like I should be given a non-US discount on Apple products

Thank you for jumping on your pedestal. The analogy is there for illustration purposes. And it fits.

As for your attempt to imply that people like me are too weak to take a stand... you obviously have no idea who you’re talking to.

By your statement, you clearly have no idea what kind of people I am. Because you apparently praise and criticize me simultaneously on the same issue.

I took no political stand in my statement, because it was unnecessary. But I provided the illustration to indicate that simply not buying something from Microsoft or installing something from Microsoft wouldn’t accomplish his stated mission of:

“But as a devout Anti-Microsoft person, I would never want a single piece of their hardware/software in my life. :p

So, just as not eating meat or animal products (or even using makeup, etc.) doesn’t stop your consumption of animal products without digging much deeper into your consumer decisions; his implied boycott of Microsoft products is nothing but lip service, because he is still on the Internet.

He hasn’t even taken a real significant effort. Because it’s a simple flip of a switch in his case.

Many vegans take a holier than thou attitude if someone uses a product that is made from animal parts. They can go on for hours. But then there’s that one product that they absolutely won’t go without. Everybody’s willing to take an attitude of superiority. But in the end, all of them will only sacrifice what they don’t value. As soon as it’s something they want, their morality and cause goes out the window.

Just as he won’t turn off his Internet to support his stance against having Microsoft in his life.

And before you make the mistake of again trying to claim I’m bashing Vegans, note a few points. 1) I didn’t say all vegans; 2) you clearly have no idea what my eating habits are or what my morality or political stance is; 3) the entire point was simply to illustrate that there is a difference between lip service and effort / action; and...

4) I have no problem arguing a vegan lifestyle down to the most minuscule detail if you feel the need to go there, but it really would serve no purpose. And likely it would come down to two people with similar beliefs arguing over who is most purely following the lifestyle.

I take issue sometimes with the other animal picking on the fish in the lake in my back yard. But... I also realize I cannot impose my personal choices on the birds. And I’d defend the same birds at my own peril. And so on down the line. So in the end, I let them be.

Follow that on down the line, and eventually we get to people in the food chain. So a moral high ground really is pointless. But a personal choice is fine.

But I can tell you that if I was going to take a formal stand against something, I’d go further than lip service. And if pulling a cord was all it took to accomplish my goal of banishing a company from my life, that would be easy. If I want something out of my life, it will certainly happen if yanking a wire is all it took.

And yet many hundreds of thousands are beating on the doors trying to get into 'Murica....

And many would gladly leave if America wouldn’t use the extradition laws to bring them back. And you don’t have to have previously broken any laws to have it be considered a violation of law for you to leave the country.

Sometimes circumstances are such that people can make your choice of location appear to be “fleeing” obligations. And use the courts to extradite you back and make you a fugitive for having simply left the country.

Think I’m wrong? Consider the power of lawyers and former spouses.

Even though I don’t live in the same state as my former spouse. I would need that spouses permission to move from the town I’m in. Why??? Because our courts and legal systems are messed up. It would actually benefit both of us if I did move from where I am. But... that’s not the name of the game. It’s not about what’s best, it’s about control. And the courts love control. It makes lawyers and judges quite wealthy.

Now, consider how many divorced people there are in this country. And then consider how many of them might not actually get along as well as I do with a former spouse (I actually get along great with that particular ex). Then consider if they have kids together. And then you have a lot of people who might be held more hostage in America than be here of their free will. And sometimes, it could even be a simple choice of do you leave your kids or family behind for the desire to live somewhere else.

So whether it is by law or circumstance, it is not as simple as choosing to leave.
