What the hell????
Effort designed to sell computers in developing countries
well in some ways it looks like a good idea and to help the poor get a better computer. Since using the pay by the hour goes to help paying for the computer. After a certain point I going ot guess it become theres and no longer cost them anything to use.
Sounds like a revenue recognition nightmare.
Glad my firm doesnt audit M$.
But this does seem like a good idea, if it can be implemented effectively from a consumer pov. No interest credit for a new computer essentially.
Haha, pay for 10 hours of access a month just to keep windows up to date through dial up...LOL.
I don't see how. When the PC is "sold" 1/2 of the revenue is deferred and the other half is recognized. The deferred revenue is recognized when the pre-paid cards are purchased.
