My Microsoft intellimouse seems to be dying. The right click is spotty. Had a good run, though, as I have been using this mouse regularly since 2003!

Anywho, I saw one reviewer at BestBuy that seemdd to suggest the new Intellimouse doesn't work for Mac.

Doesn't work on other platforms
I bought this from Best Buy on my way out, since it was in the mouse section, and I needed a new mouse. Took it home, plugged it in, but nope doesn't work - it works on Windows only. It's a proprietary USB device that looks like a mouse but is not a mouse that adheres to USB standards; it shouldn't have been in the mouse section in the first place. It's deceptive. Now I have to waste my time to return it. But you know what, if Best Buy and Microsoft want to be deceptive and waste my time, I'm fine wasting their time.

What is the most recent model intellimouse you've successfully used on MAC OS?

I apologize, I wasn’t clear at all. I’ve only ever used an intellimouse on windows machines way back in my past. Sorry. I switched to Mac in 2012. But stopped using an intellimouse a long long time ago. I have fond memories of that mouse, but only ever used it with Windows.

Haha, 17-inch MBP and Mighty Mouse. What a throwback thread. Anyway, I haven't purchased an Intellimouse in a long time, but the ones that I have from the late 90s and early 2000s will work (PS/2 to USB adapters work great with OS X as well)

After my magic mouse died, I switched to a Microsoft designer mouse because I wanted a black mouse but didn't want to pay the extra Apple tax for the new Magic Mouse in black.

Have used it with my mbp everyday for the last six months and have had minimal problems. Only issue I have once in a while is that I lose connection briefly or there's a slight lag in the pointer and I just switch it off and turn it back on and it'll reconnect and I'm good to go again. This happened with my Magic Mouse too so no biggie.

The black goes well with my dark grey MBP. Go for it!

Any USB or Bluetooth mouse should work. We've used MS mice (usb and bluetooth) as well as Logitech (wired/usb).
