In the meantime Microsoft brought a new update for OneNote

It appears to be only a big fix. No new features.

Eh? What are you talking about?
What's New in Version 15.1
Print - Need to print your notes or a to-do list? Now you can with OneNote for Mac! You can also save your notes as a PDF.
Drag and Drop - Drag pictures from websites or other places on your Mac and drop them directly into your notes.
Formatted Text - We've added the ability to copy and paste formatted text between applications. Whether it's an article from the web or a document in Word, any content you paste into OneNote will look great!
Format Painter - Use Format Painter to quickly copy the format of text in one part of your notes and apply it to other text.
Hyperlinks - Now you can add links to your notes or edit existing ones.
Really? It does not appear to me. In my Mac App Store, version 15.0.2 is the latest one. It appears that version 15.1 has not yet been released to the Brazilian Mac App Store (which is the one I am linked to).
It didn't appear to me either, so I searched for the app on the store and then I clicked on Update..
Oh, I DID do a google search.I guess you were unable or unwilling to do a two-second Google search yourself, so here you go:

PS While we're on the subject: Do you have a credible source from within Apple stating the company "dumbed down iWorks simply to give it away for free"?
And the question remains as to why they have not made the older, more feature rich version of iWork freely available as well.
If they truly want to move users away from the old version then they need the new version to have the same feature set as the old one... and based on the articles that were linked, Apple originally had not plans on adding those features back in (they only decided to do that in response to user complaints). That is probably because they want to move users away from the old version and discontinue it entirely. Probably nothing to do with taking features away from the users.

So how were they expecting users of the old version to migrate to the new? (just a hypothetical question, none of us know the answer... but things don't add up)
The new Pages doesn't even have support for linked text boxes. I find that astonishing.
I believe they promised some information about Office 2014 2nd qtr, so that's between April and June. I'd be a little more patient. It's been 40 days Microsoft released Office for the iPad and no signs of the new Office for Mac

With that said, I'm using Office 2013 in vmware just because its that much better then what we have for the MacMy point even if Office 2014 comes out later this year it will be inferior to office 2013
There aren't that many Macs.Office for iPad has already been downloaded 27 million times (http://9to5mac.com/2014/05/12/micro...ued-growth-with-27-million-downloads-to-date/). I seriously doubt that Microsoft has ever sold as many licenses of Office for Mac.
There aren't that many Macs.![]()
Besides, downloads do not equal purchases. If Microsoft provided a free, read-only download of Office for OSX, I suspect that the download ratios would be similar.
any new news on office 2015?

? Installed Mac base is about 70 million.
Where did you get these numbers? Any source?
My source is this dude
It's from WWDC last year, i'm sure they'll give a figure on Monday, probably be approaching 80 million.
Oh OK... But is that the total number of Macs ever sold or still in operation?
Apple sells about 4-5 million Macs per quarter. However, these numbers have been increasing over the years, and five or ten years ago much less Macs were sold than today.
72 million Macs installed base means still in operation. Using your own figure, that means 16-20 million Macs are sold each year. Most people will upgrade to a new Mac every 3-4 years so that figure of 72 Million would be about right. With the way I see see macs leaving theApple Store in my neighborhood I would guess that this year Tim Cook will be showing that number to be close to if not over 100 Million.
