This is driving me out of my mind, I can’t do basic stuff. I recently started using O365 on Mac and have never really used Mac’s Mail. Does it work well for rules/filtering? (I’m willing to try almost anything at this point... Though it’s a bummer that Outlook is so bad at this because MS has come so far...)

The basic rules/filtering functionality works well enough for me (I don't get too advanced), the only hassle is setting them up I suppose

I keep going back to Apple Mail and it always ends up disappointing me. Whats Apple Mail’s issues with flags across OS platforms?

Anyways, with a configurable view and active sync, I’m going to give Outlook another try.

Don't know, you don't describe whatever you think the problem is.

Flags disappear, reappear, and the # of flags change with no changes by me.

I need consistency across OS’s so I no longer use flags.

I’m have a premium Outlook account(Office 365) setup as Exchange on my Mac and use native iOS apps on my iPhone.

The 📆 works/syncs perfect on MacOS and iOS.

So it looks like it was enabled for me today and I tried it. I had to go back to the old version immediately due to the fact that I have a particular distribution group that I use weekly and the new version doesn't support People just yet. It's buggy, as expected, but it's an interesting design change. Looks a little more like Apple Mail to me, which I refuse to use.

Reading some of these comments makes me feel better. I was driving myself crazy because some emails don't show up when I search for them on my Mac, while they do appear on Windows. Clearly I am not the only one have this problem.

I agree completely regarding support for common internet standards like CalDAV/CardDAV, but doesn't it already support local access to Apple Contacts and Apple Calendar? Not that anyone should keep anything they care about in either one, of course... but I thought it supported the proprietary interfaces.
My life would be a smidgeon easier if I could integrate iCloud calendar in Outlook. Incredibly frustrating you cannot do this.

Has anyone on Insider Fast ring actually gotten this release yet? If so, what's the version number? I am currently on 16.32 that was installed this morning, but I don't see any option to turn this new view on.

Thanks

I was waiting patiently for the toggle to appear. It turns out you need to go to Help > Try the new Outlook. This enables the new Outlook and the toggle switch.

I keep checking back in with the "New" Outlook to see if they've added the ability to not show in Groups/Conversations. Once they add that, I'll stick with the new version.

I use Outlook for Mac for work email / contacts / calendars and think it’s pretty good. Certainly better than the native email app.

However, I still use Apple iCloud for personal email / contacts / calendars. I’d like to add all of this to Outlook for Mac but its still NOT possible to sync iCloud calendar with Outlook for Mac. Which is frankly ridiculous. There is nothing in this new release that seems to fix that oversight. And the workaround suggested by MS (to share a iCloud public calendar link via Outlook for Web) simply does not work. So now I’ve decided to switch back to Google calendar for my personal calendar so that I can see all of my work and personal appointments in the Outlook calendar.

Why is trying to maintain all work and personal accounts (mail / contacts / calendar) such a pain in the **** generally? I’d prefer to use Outlook for Mac as my one place to manage it all as I spend most of my working day in Outlook so it would be easier. Should I switch away from iCloud and back to google for everything personal (I only switched everything to iCloud a year ago so it would be a pain).

Do I need a subscription to Office 365 to use this App or is it a stand alone?

I do have a desktop version of Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point)
