M$ now says it was a hoax. Here I think they were just surprised by the reaction on the net. :D

That would have been an understatement. But I'm wondering if there are going to be an repercussions from this - probably for the person releasing the hoax to the media. They have probably been asked to leave....:D

It very well could have been an April Fool's day joke gone bad. First off, it was a month late, and second, it took 11 calendar days to say it was a joke - even after it was published on MSNBC.

I mean come on. There is something missing. This is not a nice little "Oh, gee. Ha! Ha! You got us."

And to what "Mr. Anderson", (sorry Duke, still getting used to that) is saying, I think there should be a few more folks walking out the door, like the editors of MSN and MSNBC, the PR guy, the quality control people, and the marketing guys.

Do we think this happened?

I don't. They tried something (I don't know what for) and it was laughed off the planet.

Oh, there's no doubt heads will be rolling here, but I wonder if it will ever come to light what really happened.

The problem is that it is almost believable - silly, but you could see it happening. Now either is a mark of genius knowing something like this could be accepted or just plain stupidity on someones part.

I'd really love to know the whole story.

Anyone want to second a nomination to have Mr. Anderson to lead the investigation into Microsofts plans for toilets with Web Access? We will also need committee members to assist him!
