Hah, bring back the mac elitists!

Once again, Microsoft makes a commercial for a product they don't sell, from the same company that isn't them, and doesn't mention the product that they do sell, that you are forced to have on the computer they don't sell, that public opinion has deemed broken.

Wow, these are probably the best microsoft has come up with in a while. Which is still sad.

well my macbook serves my needs
apart from
4 keyboard and mouse top cases
3 superdrives
2 batteries
2 power supplies
3 hard drives
2 memory sets
2 logic boards

but apart from that I love my Mac, i think they just sold me a broken one (all thats happened in 24 months) thank god I bought Applecare

The 1st commercial made a lot more sense.

This one.....well.....it gets the point across, and it's true if he wants power. I tried configuring the HP 16t the way I want, and in terms of hardware, I could get better hardware than a 15" MBP, but for around $600 less. In fact, I can configure on as good as a 17" MBP (or better) in terms of hardware specs, for around half the price ($1530)

However, he basically said, "I don't care about looks. I want the ugly HP." They could have said the HP looks good too, but no, they said it was the fugs. :p  I'd consider that a blunder. HP probably doesn't appreciate it.

Sigh....

I pay for the brand because it is a brand based on stability, integration, reliability and innovation.

Comparing a Mac to PC on a spec sheet is always going to favour a PC - but once again they miss the point (which is even more staggering for Microsoft) - it's the software, stupid!

Idiot $1 said:
This is so sexy, but Macs to me are about aesthetics more than they are the computing power. I don't want to pay for the brand. I want to pay for the computer.

Maybe someone a few years ago, who was unfamiliar with Macs could think this - the fact that Macs were lower in Ghz than the PC equivalents.

Since Mac has been on Intel, they're getting more computing 'power' faster than some of the Dell/HP/whatever PC's out there.

He's clearly just an idiot.

Great ad.

Apple fanboys up in arms because Microsoft have DARED to do exactly what Apple have been doing for years and years. Only Microsoft are actually basing their ads on real-world, consumer facts and don't sugar coat it with pretentious nonsense like the I'm a mac, I'm a pc ad.

Also amazing how Microsoft have in one campaign completely ruined Apple's "I'm a mac, I'm a PC" slogan.

The apple fanboys bitching and moaning is fun to watch though

Sadly, these commercials will work for the same reasons that mac ads have - they pander to the uninformed (or those that are informed from second-hand knowledge). The kinds of people that believe everything they hear. ie "macs don't run any programs" "pcs crash a lot" "macs are overpriced" "pcs are confusing" etc etc

Just incase it comes up, I own a macbook pro, used to an ibook g4 AND g3, have appletv, an iphone, etc etc so i am an apple guy and would only buy their products. I just think these ads will be/are effective.

HP has become garbage really t here stupid restore thing is the dumbest idea on the earth basicly they partion 5-6 gigs i think it was as a restore disk so if you wanna replace that hard drive you have to pay hp 12 bucks to get a set of restore cd's. i said it over in the last topic for the adds ive come to learn over the last 3 cheap pcs that were crap i would gladly pay what the macs cost i had 3 macs and no problems with all of them i had Imac DV+ Emac and Imac intel

Microsoft is now undeniably SEXIST.

They give $1500 to the man, but only $1000 to the girl.
And then they gave him cash in the parking lot for some illicit acts.

Wait... is that the Fry's Electronics in Campbell, CA?

Creeeeeeeeeeepy. I shop at that Fry's all the time. I wonder if the Door Nazis made him show them his Microsoft Receipt on the way out.

"...I have really big hands..."

"...This thing is gigantic..."

THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!!! :D :D :D :D

this is why i think apple needs to advertise the bootcamp and parralles and VM more i have my fastest XP on my mac

Clearly this guy has no taste, look at the clothes and the car.

I can only assume he does not buy any 'Brands', as he would then be paying for the badge.

Clothes, Food, Cars, etc, etc. Does he buy all the cheapest of these or is he a hypocrite?

Again MS plug the Apple - it's sexy and aesthetically pleasing.
Great those things are important to me AS WELL as being a great computer.

Stupid ads.

The 1st commercial was better, but this one still makes a point... the Apple Tax sucks. I wouldn't recommend a Mac to any price conscious person. :(

If that was me, I would have gotten the $1500 and put in my own $300 to get the Air. F' PC... I wouldn't buy one even with other peoples' money. Too time consuming, even out of the box. Especially out of the box.

"...I have really big hands..."

"...This thing is gigantic..."

THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!!! :D :D :D :D

So that's what he did after the parking lot payoff.
