Microsoft silverlight not working

So today i tried watching netflix on mountain lion 10.8 gm, i could not watch anything. when i downloaded microsoft silverlight it said it was not recognized. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? and if u have do you know how to fix this or is this just microsoft not updating it.

Uhh really? It hasn't even been released to the public. Of course silver light isn't expected to work yet. Are you a developer?

silverlight is working fine on my clean ML installation.
maybe because i'm using chrome?
