I still don't get why they hold on to the serverbased model where they collect all your exchange passwords (if you have more than one) and store those to login to your various exchange servers and fecth your mail to their server.

For push notifications.
They cannot send you push notifications if they cannot check for new messages from their servers.

Does the update fix email aliases? (As in, if you have iCloud aliases, can you actually give them separate sender/display names?)

I kept losing attachments after replying or forwarding a received email. Hopefully this has been fixed!

Outlook STILL Doesn't have native-support for @icloud.com email addresses???
Are they seriously pushing an Email Client for iOS that can't work with iCloud email-users?
And yet adding @icloud on the Windows Outlook Desktop App is easy as silk. Even Blue Mail handles that with ease on iPhone.
KICKED TO THE CURB AGAIN!
Never once used my iCloud email address, and never once sent an email to anyone using an @icloud email address. Just saying.

No way to show that Apple Unity with third party email apps. But I suppose @yahoo.com remains viable. Oh...wait... is AOL still around? Can't go wrong with the classics.
Not really sure what point you were trying to make, but it's all about Gmail these days for personal. Pretty much 95% of emails I send go to a Gmail account, or private domain.

Even with the new version rolled out today, version 2.34, the new view is not working for me. And they said it is rolled out for all users including Office 365 (their remarks for this version). Anyone else?

I tried this new outlook on someone's recommendation. Absolutely awful. Deleted it straight away. I have numerous accounts all of which coincidentally have similar descriptions. Instead of displaying the NAME of the account which might be useful this crap just throws a load of coloured discs into the side bar containing one or two letters. So, the six accounts all labelled 'A'. I am supposed to know which one is which how exactly? They should at least provide the option to show more meaningful account names. Rubbish.

Oh it gets worse ... such as the First and Last Initial of names in a circle for emails received by a contact. This is what the business world is coming too in mobile email management? I hope not./
