Resolved Microsoft Word 16.85 incredibly slow, refuses to save file

Just solved an issue for a friend: Typing in Word was ridiculously slow. Just before I began to try different things, I had learned that some people are having serious problems with 16.85. I don't, but could help a friend by installing 16.84 instead - which is, what Microsoft offers as a momentary solution.

Maybe others have the same problem.

What MacOS version was this? And what hardware was being used?
