I have a Mid-2007 Macbook and was wondering how Lion wound preform with it. The computer has a 2.16ghz processor, 4gb ram, and 500gb hard drive. It currently is running Snow Leapord. I have heard many negative things about Lion and am really not sure why. I don't use the computer for much. Mainly web browsing, YouTube, and iTunes.

there were new options and new looks when Lion launched. Some things were buggy and some old things stopped working the way people expected. It needs more RAM than Snow Leopard but you will be fine with 4GB.

Look at the current fever about the early Yosemite, many hate the look, lots talk about going back to Mavericks, others hate Mavericks and want to go to Snow Leopard etc etc

10.7.5 which was the last big update to Lion will be fine on your MacBook. It also has better security than 10.6.8. It may feel very slightly less snappy than 10.6.8.

since you have another much newer laptop, why not try Lion on the 2007 and let us know how you get on?
