I don't think you will be happy with anything older than 2012. If it were me, I would spend the money on a display and dock for the MacBook Air.
Why do you think so? I'm not very picky. I'm using mac mini 2009/ Satisfied. Just looking imac Like the design. I'm worried that the 4670 card is hot. Am I right or is 2012-2013 colder?

2012-2013 are colder and much quieter. Plus they have quad core CPUs. No easy-access ram door though.

Is the 4670 card burning frequently? The difference between 2010-2013 is $170 I'm from Russia. This is a big amount for me.

The 27 inch has easy to access RAM door, probably wouldn't be hard to find a non-retina for a decent price.

hey everyone, I was just wondering if a mid 2009 iMac 20" would be worth the purchase to use it for nothing but light internet and YouTube? I don't need it for much else, just a simple desktop with a bigger screen than my MacBook Air m1. its running OS X El Capitan 10.11.6, 2gb 1067 MHz ddr3 I am seeing these very cheap and was considering buying, any advise would be great thanks
Why not just buy an external display to use with your laptop?

16 ram will already be inside. The question is whether the video card 4670/5670/10-15 hours a day can withstand the load

I'm doing this with the 2010 today - 27 inches. Prices are actually pretty close between the 21.5 and 27 inch models. I'm running a YouTube video and the ATI Radeon HD 5750 is running at 43 degrees. CPU is running at 54 degrees. Top of the iMac is slightly warm.

This is good news. Is this a normal temperature? Can be used all day? Youtube 720p?

Running YouTube 720p fullscreen has CPU at 74 degrees, GPU at 55 degrees. If you're looking at 2012-2013, the temps will be lower as the GPU and GPU will be more efficient.

Reading the comments here, I'm looking at early 2009(24) mid 2009 21.5 or mid 2010. I want to take a try, see which imac I need

Example of a local 2012 iMac 27 i7 for $200. This thing has a Geekbench 5 Milticore score of 3,000 so pretty decent performance.

27 inch That's a lot for my table. I sit too close. If 2010 27 is used as a display for win 7, does the apple also heat up as usual? Does the apple card or pc card work?

It still heat up as usual, mainly because of the LCD panel rather than the CPU & GPU.

If you still use the HD5750, it will be hot and the GPU tend to fail again.
If yours is the HD5670m, no problem at all.

4670 (256) 21.5 2010 does it fit too?

It's small form MXM-type A and it will fit, too.
I'm from Russia. Machine translate. Translation difficulties. Card 4670 (21.5 2010) is it a good cold card and can it work for a long time? Did you understand correctly? I've been reading several threads on this forum and everyone is blaming the 4670 for being a hot card too and it will die quickly. I became afraid of everything and I don't know which is better, 21.5 (2009/2010-4670) or 21.5 2009-9400m. I work with text, watch web pages, YouTube and movies). Work 10-15 hours a day. Home Office

Hello. I want to buy 24 inch 2009 (419) gt 130 or 2.26 and 9400m Please tell me the display lamp burns out quickly in the 24 inch model. if you use every day at the office? 21.5 very small Thank you

I have the iMac 2009 3.06 and it is usable but slow. There's just isn't that much juice in the CPU. The i5 or i7 are much better if you can get one. The 2009 puts out a fair amount of heat as well. One nice thing about the 2009 is that it works in Target Display Mode with anything that can put out a DisplayPort signal using a Mini DisplayPort plug.
