Mid-2009 MBP freezes daily! What's the problem?!

My mid-2009 MBP is throwing fits left and right.

It will freeze daily, sometimes more than once. The freeze requires a hard reset by having to hold down power button for 5 seconds.

Usually occurs within the first 3 minutes after waking up from sleep.

I have 8 GB of RAM and the standard 160GB HDD. Currently 35GB are free on the HDD.

It is getting worse as time goes on. Apple needs to release a new MBP ASAP!

What could be causing these issues?

If you have apple care take it to an apple store pronto. I have the same mid 2009 mbp and my apple care runs out in July 2012. Good Luck.
